Industrial civilization as we know it would collapse if accurate analyses of materials suddenly became unobtainable. The value of all chemicals, metals, fuels, and minerals of commerce is determined by the measurement of their composition. Analyses enable us to control the quality of our drinking water, the purity of our foods, and the discharges to our environment. Without good analyses, we would have no effective public health, poor utilization of resources, no industrial economy. Clearly, because analytical chemistry plays such a key role in the workings of our society, it is of vital importance that the results produced from an analytical service be timely, precise, and accurate. Fire Assay
Since 1961, we have performed millions of analyses on materials ranging from minerals to metals, from brines to drinking water, from animal tissues to metallic contaminants in paint, and from gases to radioactive emanations. We employ fire assaying, wet chemistry, fluorimetry, x-ray spectrometry, ion chromatography, spectroscopy, radiochemistry, as well as many custom-designed methods. Development of complicated and unusual analytical techniques in support of process research and pilot plants is an everyday occurrence.
